Do these two look familiar? They should! I photographed the brother's wedding in June! That's right, two brothers with weddings a little over a month a part! The location was the same, but the vibe could not have been more different and unique!
Cody and Lacy are some of the most kind people I have ever met, and the two of them together truly just makes the world a better place.
There were very few formalities to their day, which was so refreshing. They were married under a covered bridge with their closest friends and family surrounding them, just as a summer storm blew in. They wrote their own vows, and Cody got creative and really intentional with his "connect the dots" vows. "If you connect the dots, the chaos may disappear, and something else may appear. I- l-o-v-e- y-o-u." Marriage is not easy. There will be chaos, hardship, and struggle, but when you love each other through it, that's where the beauty and the growth comes from.
There were no first dances, no bouquet toss, and no rules, really. It felt like the most elegant dinner party, where we sat family style and celebrated the two at the head of the table. It was the perfect set up for friends and family to speak about their fond memories of Cody and Lacy, and to wish them well on this next chapter. The toasts were incredibly heartfelt, to the point where I had a quiver lip going by the end.
I love, love. I love capturing it, and watching it grow. I cried at this wedding more than I have at any other, for many reasons, but I will never forget the overwhelming feelings of joy and gratitude that encompassed the day.
This was the epitome of an intimate wedding, and they knocked it out of the freaking park.
